Attorney Jon Trapp

​

Jonathan W. Trapp is the Senior Attorney of Trapp Law, PLLC, where he is dedicated to sound counsel, thorough strategy, and unwavering resolve to meet his clients' needs.  Jonathan has represented clients in Federal Court in the Eastern and Middle District as well as multiple counties throughout the State of North Carolina. Mr. Trapp currently serves on the board for the Durham County Bar Association, where he heads the Public Outreach Committee and is a member of the George White Bar Association.

Attorney Trapp was born and raised in Alexandria, V.A., where he attended Episcopal High School. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Latin American Studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Prior to becoming an attorney, Mr. Trapp worked as a teacher, and also served as an athletics coach for five years coaching football, basketball, and track on varsity levels.

Attorney Trapp attended the Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law at Campbell University where he worked as a Webster Legal Scholar for Professor James McLaughlin, and participated in the Frederick Douglas Moot Court Competition where he received honors for best brief. Correspondingly, he interned with the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of North Carolina.

For the last decade, Attorney Trapp worked as the Lead Attorney at the Law Offices of James D. Williams, Jr. where he served under the leadership of the renown attorney "Butch" Williams. During his tenure at the firm,  Attorney Trapp specialized in the legal practice areas of Criminal Defense, Traffic, and Sweepstakes. During this season of his career, Attorney Trapp was in charge of preparing and litigating all the major cases in the firm. The mentorship and guidance afforded to him provided Attorney Trapp an invaluable experience that has prepared him to be the attorney he is today.

Attorney Trapp presently resides in Wake Forest, North Carolina with his wife and their five children, and is an active member of Celebration Church.
